Lost & Found

Lost: Our Calphalon BREAD KNIFE (we're talking about a BIG shiny serrated knife!)
Found: A new replacement @ Ross for half price
Lost: 2 of Will's socks
Found: 1 of them under his car seat :)
Lost: My 1-cup measuring cup
Found: $14 cash on my bedside table (thanks Honey)
Lost: A 3-tier server
Found: It in Billy's old chest in the garage (I forgot we were space-saving in the townhome garage)
Lost: That's what the flower delivery guys were last week when they took 2 days to deliver part of my Valentines present (no wonder my husband was stalling all morning when I wanted to get out)
Found: Them on my front porch late that night! They were b-e-a-utiful!
Lost: 1 black high heel
Found: It hiding under the drivers seat of the car (gotta' love changing into flats after church)
Lost: The need for plain ole' white pasta every time
Found: Barilla PLUS with flaxseed, protein and omega-3's to be quite tasty
Lost: My I-touch (momentarily)
Found: It in my husband's hands ("but it's time to harvest my crops")
Lost: I NEARLY lost it when the lady in the public bathroom at a HOSPITAL was too busy talking on her cell in the stall to realize her little girl was LAYING all over the floor...and then they both walked out without even washing their hands!
Found: The serenity to keep my cool and NOT chase that lady down with at least hand sanitizer
Lost: Billy's IPOD dock
Found: An old 3/4 full bottle of water in my rocking chair cushion
Lost: Our little led flashlight
Found: It beaming out from the washing machine in a fresh batch of washed clothes
Lost: 2 of our 4 Dr.Brown's bottle caps
Found: Some old cd's I was looking for
Lost: My train of thought when the new neighbor came by and talked nonstop (at least she's friendly)
Found: A renewed interest in playing the WII when a few friends came over to play for 6 hours (Caren says she got 38 snowballs when she got home and played, but Billy being the reigning champ here with 30 says "sure Caren, sure you did".

And I'm still looking for my 1 cup measure, Billy's IPOD dock, 1 baby sock, and 2 bottle caps...so random

Lost: The feeling of being satisfied with enough cuddles and hugs with my grandson, son and daughter-in-law.
Found: Not yet, but maybe soon??
When we can book a plane ticket or when you can book your plane tickets.

It's strange that things you once could keep up with (before babies/children) disappear so easily afterward.

I've lost so many things in the past 25-odd years... first thing lost was my grandmother's antique rolling pin. We were living in her furnished home after they moved to the Conroe area from North Texas. It was just John and I. One December evening, I made Christmas cookies after church - and that was the last time I saw the rolling pin. My grandmother accused! me of stealing it! But, since then, all I can figure, was that it rolled itself over into the kitchen trash... that's the only thing that couldda happened to it. It was a very sad thing, not knowing what happened to something so important... important to her.

Then over the next 20 years, with so many moves from house to house - other things would come up missing.

Pretty dessert dishes, Anchor Hocking... gone! the whole box! I must've forgotten them up above the refrigerator in one of those cupboards that I cannot reach....

A coffee carafe... zip - vanished!

Then as the children grew older, spoons would disappear. It was strange...

Socks - socks - socks - always missing the other brother... a whole book could be written about how many times I've thrown away a batch of singletons - then over the next few months, all the siblings would show up.... where do they hide!!!

I bet your serrated bread knife got accidently knocked off the counter into the trash... or, perhaps you'll find it in a safe place that someone packed for you when you moved... have you seen it since you moved to the new house?

Thinking of you guys.

Love.

Lost could be anything at my house...but Jamie and Billy have a place for everything and everything in it's place! It amazes me to see their tidy organized newleywed adorned kitchen( we should be given empty nester showers ) with no odd lids or dishes wondering around. It is tuff on me hunting around to make sure to tuck each item precisely in it's place when I'm helping with clean up, after a meal?

It IS odd to me that the chaphalon measuring cup is missing from the bottom of it's neat little nest! I didn't lose it...I promise! I agree that the trash can must be involved.

have you seen these items since you moved? or before you moved...?

Nana...hopefully that feeling will go away soon, when we all see each other again.

Mama PC...your story reminded me of another lost item...my tea pitcher! I think I sent it home with Lin after Lucie's baby shower at the church and it spilled all over the car!!

The last time I saw the knife was in our first year of marriage...I had some girl friends over while Billy and Aaron were on a work trip. I made pasta and remember cutting the French bread with that knife...maybe it was also thrown away with the foil bread bag. ;(
and my last memory of the measuring cup was at our new house...the day a bunch of us girls made sugar cookies.

what did the tea pitcher look like? what size? lid? those were crazy days when we had Lin and Brian and then Lucie, Jenn and Hannah and Jeremiah all living here in the same house with Papa John and me....

I forgot to mention that I FOUND that it's half price to get the Sunday paper delivered to my house than picking it up from the stand! So it's easier AND cheaper...can't beat that!
