Kickoff to Christmas

A few weeks ago, Billy's company flew us out for their annual Christmas party. We had a wonderful time with the company, and the best part was we were at....DISNEYLAND! There was a great party on Friday night with delicious food and great company...then we had breakfast together the next morning and it was off to an entire day of Disney!

We took Will with us (of COURSE!) and weren't quite sure how he'd handle all the big characters, rides, crowds and noise. Turns out, he's as much a fan as his parents :)

He'd never taken a pic with Santa, so we thought the Disney Santa was the perfect one to break him in with. He was beautiful! Perfect rosy-red cheeks, handsome and heavy courderoy clothing, and a soft and gentle voice. We were fully prepared for a fight on our hands (as most 20 month olds might give), but NOPE, Will LOVED him. Santa was as surprised as we were, I think. He whispered to us parents that we could "go ahead and leave now", and then he patted Will's leg and said "Son, you can have whatever you want for Christmas". It was adorable.

Nana and Pops were able to join us for an early Christmas time together. They had fun seeing the glee on Will's face...about every 5 minutes, when he experienced something new!

It was the PERFECT day to be in the park. We happened to be there for the lighting of the giant Christmas tree. A large group of carolers sang Christian carols down the streets with candlelight, they put on a big production telling the birth of Jesus, It's a Small world was completely decked out in lights, and it was the holiday version of the ride....so cool. Plus, when the park had it's normal fireworks display at the end of the night, they had a Christmas accompaniment, and then made it snow! What a way to start the Christmas season!
